Derai Correspondent : Like the rest of the country, the 54th National Cooperative Day was celebrated in Derai, Sunamganj, under the initiative of the Upazila Cooperative Office with the theme ‘Equality and Equality-Cooperatives will build the country’.
On this occasion, a procession and discussion meeting were held on Saturday (November 1) morning in the presence of cooperatives of various cooperative associations of the upazila.
Derai Upazila Executive Officer Sanjib Sarkar was the chief guest at the discussion meeting held under the chairmanship of Upazila Cooperative Officer Hironmoy Roy at the Upazila Parishad conference room.
District BNP Convening Committee member Abdur Rashid Chowdhury, Upazila Agriculture Officer Monoranjan Adhikari, Municipality BNP Convener Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Abdul Quddus, former president of Derai Press Club Shamsul Islam Sardar Khezur and former general secretary Ziaur Rahman Liton were special guests.
Cooperative member Prashant Sagar Das, Sunamganj District Student Rights Council General Secretary Md Minhaj Talukder, Upazila NCP convener Ubaidul Haque, Randhir Chakraborty and others were spoke also.
