Staff Reporter : Deputy Commissioner-DC of Sylhet Md Mojibor Rahman said that there is no alternative to increase the production of food grains in order to reduce the impact on Bangladesh in the future global food crisis.
He said this in the speech of the chief guest at the farmer’s rally organized with the aim of increasing agricultural production at Companiganj Upazila Parishad auditorium on Thursday afternoon.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the government is always with the farmers to increase production and will provide all kinds of assistance.
He called upon all to cultivate all the fallow lands without leaving any land vacant as per the directives of the Prime Minister.
Md Mojibor Rahman also requested the farmers to come forward in the production of other national crops including pulses as well as paddy.
He also directed to give incentives of one lakh taka to farmers from all upazila parishads under the initiative of district administration besides government agricultural assistance.
The Deputy Commissioner distributed mustard seeds worth Tk 1 lakh among 300 farmers on behalf of Companiganj Upazila Parishad.
Under the chairmanship of Companiganj upazila executive officer Lusikant Hajong. Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Directorate Sylhet Khair Uddin Molla and Upazila Parishad Chairman Shamim Ahmad and all related officials and political leaders working in the upazila were present.
