The first production of Shinan Repertory Theatre’s play ‘Lal Zamin’, written by Mannan Hira and directed by Sudip Chakraborty, based on the story of the great liberation war, will be staged in educational institutions of the country.
After seeing the play, Education Minister Dr Deepumani realized the importance of the exhibition in educational institutions across the country and gave necessary instructions in this regard.
A notification has been issued by the Director General of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on September 18 for exhibition in educational institutions.
Momena Chowdhury, the actress of the play, said this at a press conference held at Anuswar Studio in Kakrail, capital, on Wednesday. Actor Ziaul Hasan Kislu, president of the institution, was present at this time.
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, 78 performances of the play ‘Lalzamin’ have already been done in remote areas of the country. It has been staged in 15 colleges in collaboration with Vishwa Sahitya Kendra. Under the auspices of Bangladesh Police, 42 Police Lines of the country have also staged.
The drama ‘Lalzamin’ by Zhinnan Repertory Theater is a dramatization of the struggling life of a woman in the liberation war and post-war Bangladesh.
On October 13, the 306th performance of the play ‘Lalzamin’ was held at the Studio Theater Hall of Natyashala.
This is the first time in the history of theater in Bangladesh that more than 300 stagings of a one-act play have been staged. Press release
