Staff Reporter : The Department of Environment has fined 12 vehicles 9,500 taka for using hydraulic horns.
During this time hydraulic horns were seized from around 50 vehicles.
A mobile court was conducted on Moulvibazar-Srimongal road on Tuesday with the initiative of Department of Environment, Sylhet Divisional Office and Moulvibazar District Office and with the cooperation of RAB-9 Srimangal and BRTA, Moulvibazar.
This penalty was imposed on Hanif Paribahan, Shyamoli Paribahan and Habiganj Express among other vehicles for the crime of using hydraulic horn in the mobile court headed by Director, Department of Environment, Sylhet Divisional Office and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Emran Hossain.
Apart from confiscating hydraulic horns, environmental and noise awareness leaflets were distributed among the public to prevent noise pollution.
Md Maidul Islam, Assistant Director of Environment Directorate, Moulvibazar District Office gave the prosecution in mobile court.
