7th meeting of Habiganj Agricultural University Syndicate held

The 7th meeting of the Syndicate, the highest executive authority of Habiganj Agricultural University, was held on Saturday (December 27) at 11:30 am at the university’s temporary campus in the Bhadai area of Habiganj Sadar Upazila.
The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Syndicate and Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr Syed Sayem Uddin Ahmed.
Out of a total of 26 Syndicate posts, five—including two reserved for Members of Parliament—are currently vacant. Of the remaining 21 members, 17 were present at the meeting.
The meeting began with a recitation from the Holy Quran. At the outset, tribute and gratitude were expressed to all those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the rights of the soil and people of Bengal.
The Syndicate reviewed and discussed in detail the progress of the university’s administrative and academic activities, future plans, and several important policymaking issues. A number of significant decisions were taken to further accelerate academic, administrative, and welfare activities, as well as to enhance the quality of education, research and infrastructural development.
Among the key decisions, the meeting approved the formulation of policies to introduce a module-based semester system in undergraduate programs, aimed at bringing the university’s academic system in line with international standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chairman of the Syndicate issued necessary instructions to the concerned authorities for the swift implementation of the decisions taken.
It is noteworthy that Habiganj Agricultural University was established to expand agricultural, science, and technology education in the country, promote innovation in new technologies, and provide advanced education in agricultural sciences.
